The project consisted in the realization of an apartment in an area of 70 sq. m. between a retaining floor and a flat roof, with thick (reinforced) concrete walls, inside a single family house with its own swimming pool and garden.

To make the apartment cosier and more comfortable, the walls and the ceiling have been insulated with cork panel 5 cm width, while the floor has been raised, insulated and ventilated to protect the house from humidity.

The apartment has been design with an open space for the entrance-kitchen-living room-dining room area. An access room with built-in wardrobe for guests has been built in order to separate from the rest of the apartment the sleeping area consisting in a double room with a walk-in closet and a bathroom.

For the right light and ventilation there have been created portholes in the perimeter wall and a skylight in the ceiling. An exposed brick wall and a fireplace covered with fragments of the floor mark the interiors out.
